Investing In Our Future
On Friday, July 24, 2026, I had the privilege to be on hand for the announcement of a $157,000,000 investment in General Motors Wentzville, Missouri operations. Our members at UAW Local 2250 build the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon midsize trucks alongside the Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana full-size vans. This investment will modernize the paint shop and add 28,000 square feet to the operation.
At Spring Hill, we recently saw an announcement of a $275,000,000 investment for the facility there. This includes investment in producing the Cadillac XT6 at Spring Hill, bringing the total of vehicles to five our members at UAW Local 1853 build.
These funds are more than a paint shop upgrade. It is about continuing to invest in an important manufacturing facility and supporting the members who help keep this plant and this community strong every day. These investments protect American jobs and support long-term job security.
The members here are comprised of very talented women and men who not only work in Wentzville but live and raise their families here and in the surrounding areas and today’s announcement reinforces a commitment to this community. This $157 million is great news for UAW Local 2250 Membership and Assembly, and it is GREAT to see General Motors invest in American manufacturing!
As a union, we must continue to bargain for investments that keep job security for our members across all sectors. We must secure the jobs of our members today and tomorrow.
In Solidarity,
Mike
