Honoring Our Predecessors and Planning the Path Ahead We are all following a path that was laid before us. Those who came before widened the path, softened the route and made the way. We in the UAW can never forget the things our predecessors have accomplished.	Investing In Our Future As a union, we must continue to bargain for investments that keep job security for our members across all sectors. We must secure the jobs of our members today and tomorrow.	Accountability Accountability Those in leadership owe a debt to those we serve- the membership. You place your trust in leaders through your vote and in return we have to earn and retain that trust. This includes bargaining contracts, being a good steward of your dues monies and presenting a positive image of the UAW to the outside.
Integrity As Our Gilding Light Integrity As Our Gilding Light According to Mr. Webster, “Integrity is the firm, consistent adherence to a code of moral or ethical values.” Having held a leadership position in the UAW for the past four years, I can tell you without question a leader's first quality must include integrity. Bargaining is a process of agreeing on terms and then adhering to those terms.	Securing the Future Securing the Future During the 2023 national contract talks, we were successful in securing commitment for new product allocation for many of our locations. The addition of the Blazer at Spring Hill, Equinox at Fairfax, new truck production for Lake Orion and product commitment at Lansing Grand River, all represent new life for our locations.	Managing Technology Managing Technology Recently there have been headlines about GM’s Factory Zero in Hamtramck, Michigan. These headlines tell of a 1000 people being laid off while the company adds “cobots.” This is a very concerning situation, but the layoffs at Factory Zero are largely due to customer demands, as EV sales are slowing.
